Programs

The SAI initiative is a test-bed for activities that align with the University's Strategic Framework and the Data, AI, and Computing Initiative, working to advance capabilities and leadership in computational research.

Since its inception, SAI continues to fund faculty and graduate students through its projects and programs, tutorials, workshops, and sponsored working groups.

• Graduate fellowships: SAI supports research projects across the Colleges of Science and Engineering, with participation from nearly every department.

• Winter Schools: International winter schools with the University of Puerto Rico–Mayagüez and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile serve as engines for external engagement and graduate recruitment.

• DAC Working Groups: SAI has sponsors working groups within the DAC initiative on the topics of laboratory automation, scientific agents, and leadership in digital chemistry.

• Campus Workshops: The SAI supports campus workshops that welcome nationally-recognized researchers to share their work at the University of Notre Dame.

• Campus Tutorials: The SAI sponsors working lunches and tutorials on practical AI topics.
