SAI Winter Schools
The SAI Winter School is a three-day immersive opportunity in partnership with the University of Puerto Rico and the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile. Over three days, faculty and students working on SAI will participate in lectures, tutorials, and panels to deepen expertise and introduce new researchers to emerging capabilities. The inaugural 2024-2025 pilot featured participation from SAI-affiliated students and faculty across the colleges of science and engineering.
The winter school concept fosters collaborations, aids recruitment, and creates new networks between participating institutions. We envision participation from multiple partner institutions in future years.
Applications for Winter School concepts reopen each summer.
Faculty Participation
Faculty and SAI graduate fellows are invited to register their interest in participating in SAI Winter Schools during the upcoming December–February period (finalized dates to be announced soon).
Previous schools have been held in collaboration with the University of Puerto Rico and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC Chile), these three-day programs bring Notre Dame participants together with colleagues at partner institutions for lectures, hands-on tutorials, and working sessions. Participants will share expertise, build relationships with partnering departments, and identify opportunities for continued collaboration in education and research.
